R7000 V1.0.9.32_10.2.34 cannot find Chromecast devices after upgrade

Hi everyone, I updated my R7000 to the latest firmware today: V1.0.9.32_10.2.34 and now I can't seem to find my Chromecast devices on the connected devices list.  I've searched around the internet and it says that I need to turn off AP/isolation mode on the router in order for the chromecast devices to work.  How can I do this?

Thanks

At the weekend? Don't be impatient. The Netgear team probably isn't around then.

Did you reset the router to factory settings after the firmware flash?

New firmware sometimes introduces changes that are not compatible with the old configuration.

So while it isn't guaranteed to fix problems a factory reset is the first thing to try if you have issues with new firmware.

This is a nuisance because you then have to reconfigure the device all over again.

You can backup your settings before you reset and restore them later. But that may just bring back the fault. Then again, at least you will know if the reset fixed the problem.

The Internet is a big place.  What, exactly, are you reading where?

How do you know that such a thing (exists and) is turned on?

If that fails, you could load older firmware to see if Netgear broke
something in the new version.  Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in
your model number, and look for Downloads.  Under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".  Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.

Re: R7000 V1.0.9.32_10.2.34 cannot find Chromecast devices after upgrade

I've got the same issue. Not able to use cast functionality after upgrade to V1.0.9.32_10.2.34.

Neither my chromecast audio or google home mini were visible on netgear "Attached Devices" list.

In additional that list was a quite short, not all devices were present there.

Rolled back to V1.0.9.28_10.2.32 and everything starts working as before.

Dear Netgear team please check your latest firmware on chromecast compatibility.

Yup, I ended up just going back to original firmware.  I'm probably never going to upgrade or touch a Netgear firmware again.

Re: R7000 V1.0.9.32_10.2.34 cannot find Chromecast devices after upgrade

Just wanted to concur with the reccomended solution. After updating to fw xx.32 I lost almost all control over 2.4 Ghz devices. 1st gen chrome cast disappeared from all devices, even though it claimed to be connected, and the connected device list on the R7000 only showed cable connected and 5Ghz connected devices, even though several 2.4 devices was connected and working including the phone I used to check the router.
Reverted to fw xxx.28 and all is good again. Netgear should remove their last update asap.
