R7800 firmware update 1.0.2.36 broke Network Drive - unable to make backups.
Well I unfortunately upgraded to the "Netgear R7800-V1.0.2.36" firmware and found it broke Readyshare with my WD 1TB eSATA drive connected to my R7800. Using Macrium Reflect I was unable to make a ba...

I bought this router recently and I am also experiencing the same problem. I have opened an email support ticket. If I don't get any satisfactory response then I will return it and buy Asus or Linksys router.

Goodbye to everyone and good luck. I have wasted enough of my valuable time trying to get Netgear to fix this bug.
I think I have been very patient since it has been over a month since the 1.0.2.36 firmware was released (8/29/2017) with this fatal flaw in it.
That being said, I have totally given up on Netgear ever fixing this problem. Yesterday I installed DD-WRT (Kong version) on my R7800 router. Below is the link:

It took me a little time to figure out how to get my Network drive working but now everything is working as it should. As an additional plus, DD-WRT offers encrypted DNS that is missing in the stock Netgear firmware.
As I said before, I spent a lot of my hard earned money buying a high end Netgear router that I really liked until Netgear broke it with the 1.0.2.36 firmware update. The total lack of urgency by Netgear to fix this problem is appalling.
There is an old saying "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me". Well Netgear, you got my money once, never again.
