R7900p and N300

I have two modems from Netgear. I am using R7900P as main router for cable. I have old N600 router too. 

Can I use N600 as an WiFi range extender with R7900P ?

What settings do I need change on N600?

Neither of those is a modem. Well, the N600 might be, but N600 a wifi speed rather than a modem number. Netgear made dozens of N600s over the years

Look for the model number on the label on the device.

Some older routers can be turned into a wireless access point  a wireless repeateror, two interpretations of what you may mean by "WiFi range extender".
