R7960P - "Respond to Ping on Internet" option selected and grayed out
Netgear Nighthawk X6S, model R7960P. Purchased at Costco. Running Firmware version V1.4.2.84_1.3.42. On the "WAN Setup" Page, the "Respond to Ping on internet" option is checked, but grayed out - so one cannot uncheck it from the web GUI. Not good. Has anyone seen this before and have a fix?
Will upgrade to a later firmware level, but wondering if this issue has been encountered before. Thanks.
Update: I upgraded to the latest firmware (V1.4.4.94_1.3.56), and that has resolved the issue. I can now uncheck that option. Thanks!

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

After the firmware update router was reset and reconfigured. Not using the IP addresses you mentioned as not permitted in this environment, and I do not see how the IP range could make a difference. Router functions fine, just that one option cannot be turned off.
So after the reset and setup from scratch, you can't turn that option off or disable it?
What browser are you using? Try MS Edge or Firefox?Try a reset on the router with the router disconnected from the ISP modem...
