R7960P router checking for updates: Service unreachable - failed to reach update server.
On my Nighthawk R7960P router, the check for updated firmware has started failing with the error message:
"Service unreachable - failed to reach update server."
The router is running Firmware Version V1.4.1.68_1.3.28 , which happens to be the latest version, but I would still expect the check to succeed and say that, as it has in the past when the firmware was up to date.
However, there is good connectivity to all the internet sites I normally use so this issue is limited to checking for Netgear router updates.
1) is it possible to check what domain name the router is using to check for updates?
2) does this mean that my Netgear Armor security subscription, currently $70 / year, is not doing any updates?
thanks!

what modem/gateway do you have?
do you actually have the R7960P? (there isn't a R7060P and your firmware version indicates R7960P)
You are currently on the latest version. You can check it here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/R7960P.aspx#download

You're right, my router model is R7960P and I've corrected the typo in the original post, thanks!
However, as mentioned in the post, I easily verified by going to the Netgear site that my router firmware is up to date.
The problem: 1) why isn't the router able to check this anymore (this used to work) and
2) does that mean my Netgear Armor security service is also not being updated on my router?
Yours isn't the first post I've seen today about getting the update server isn't available today.
I'd just watch it. Maybe somethings being updated
Armor should still work fine.
