R8000 not syncing time behind Uverse GigaPower modem. There is no manaul way to set the time in router. After reboot Router time goes back to Jan 1, 2015. This makes router bandwith meter and also security / schedule to block servies useless. Router use to work fine behind comcast modem. If I switch R8000 to AP mode from router it sync time fine. Switch back to router mode no time sync. Firwall is off on Uverse modem so it is not that. This is in logs on startup. Looks like a delay of 1 second to connect to internet.

Re: R8000 not syncing time behind Uverse GigaPower modem
If you insist on using the r8000 in router mode YOU need to see what options the Uverse box has... can it be used as a modem or bridged ( bridged Mode) or can it pass public IP to a lan port to then feed the r8000.

Re: R8000 not syncing time behind Uverse GigaPower modem
If you have U-Verse Gigapower, then you probably have an NVG599. You can use these instructions to put it into "bridge" mode (link). It's really a pseudo-bridge mode called IP Passthrough, but it has the same effect of bypassing NAT on the U-Verse gateway for one designated device, which should be your Netgear router. If you also have U-Verse/DirectTV, then keep your set-top boxes directly connected to the U-Verse gateway.

Re: R8000 not syncing time behind Uverse GigaPower modem
Modem is 5268AC. Modem allows using DMZ Plus mode which assigns ATT external IP to Netgear router. Just like a passthrough mode.

Re: R8000 not syncing time behind Uverse GigaPower modem
Yup, it's the same feature with a different name. I believe gateways made by 2Wire also call it DMZ+.
Did you already set up DMZ Plus on your Pace?

Re: R8000 not syncing time behind Uverse GigaPower modem
There seem to be a couple of threads that suggest that the Pace could be blocking NTP for the DMZ Plus device (here). Also, for 2Wire (here). You can try toggling the Strict UDP Session Control setting on the Pace, though it's not clear whether it will help. This setting should be similar to the Open/Secured NAT setting in WAN Setup on Netgear routers. Read about its relevance to NTP in this article (link). Good luck.

Re: R8000 not syncing time behind Uverse GigaPower modem
I tried all the option you recomended and on different forums but no luck. Netgear support gave me beta V1.0.5.49_20151208_timesync firmware for R7000 which fixed the issue.

I just switched R8000 to AP and now using R7000 as router till they also come out with fix for R8000 too.
Also if I disable DMZPlus mode R8000 gets the time too in router mode. Definately have to do something with DMZPlus and Netgear setting.

No explanation at all. Had to sign the NDA to get the firmware so I can't distribute it.
