R8000P stuck on firmware version V1.4.1.50_1.3.10.
Yet another router stuck on firmware version V1.4.1.50_1.3.10. After countless hours searching and trying fixes, I called the help line and they want me to pay to extend my support, for an issue that their firmware created. One of the proposed fixes from the help desk was to update my firmware..... seriously.
Long time satsfied Netgear customer until now.... never again, all done with your company, taking my business elsewhere.

Re: R8000P stuck on firmware version V1.4.1.50_1.3.10.
I mean the firmware will not update to newer revisions.
I go to the router IP address, it says a firmware update is available, I click on it and it says it has found a new version, I click yes (update), the firmware appears to download and install, router restarts, firmware version is still listed as V1.4.1.50_1.3.10.
I have also tried a "maunal" update, download newer (or older) firmware version, extract it on my hard drive, on the router update screen I direct it to the .chk file and click update, it appears to install, router reboots and reports fimware version V1.4.1.50_1.3.10.
Also tried a factory reset, no success.
Several people on this board have suggested this version of firmware has a bug which prevents it from updating itself.... I am inclined to think they are correct as it matches my experience.
What is most frustrating is I have yet to see any acknowledgment from Netgear that this problem exists. A good company would respond something like "oh yeah we know about that problem, we are sorry, here is what we are going to do to make it right....."
When I call Netgear I get "Problem? What problem, everything seems fine, but just in case... you should buy some more phone tech support, then maybe we will tell you what the real problem is..."
I am now an ex Netgear customer..... phenomenal waste of my time....
