Sudden network issues with a NASNetwork, Troubleshooting
I have a Synology NAS hooked up t my Netgear router.
It has worked flawlessly up to now.
I can access the nas via http://192.168.1.8:5000/index.cgi
I can access any of the shares. The IP adress for NAS is reserved.
I cant ping it, i cant even ping any machines on my network,
I have 7-8 devices, most with windows 10.
The other day the firewall on main computer started to act. I constant have to approve apps or services.
Cant access the NAS from any computer, wired or wif, only via browser and port 5000.
Has to be a setting on router that prevents me from accessing the NAS. But what setting?
Turns out it was the NAS was the source of error. Did a fabric reset that solved everything

Windows 10 $uck$ I went round and round with same B$ almost 2 years ago as a beta tester for Win 10. It's a security setting in WIN 10. I dumped it and went back to Win 7.

Thats really not an answer. As said in initial post it has worked flawless up until a point.
I have several W7 clients aswell, same problem there, so no, its not a W10 problem.
- PrimatetAspirantCant ping nas from any clients. Have rebooted and fabric reset router. Used saved setup. Only error message is that share is not available, or nas not avsilable. Only available via beowser

Can you still see the NAS on "Attached device" on your router UI?
