Unable to connect to 2.4 Ghz band when adding 2 Netgear R6700's to home wifi
Hi -
I decided to try and add a couple APs to my wifi to get better coverage on a 3 floor house. 1 I have AP option selected and the manual IPs filled out, the other I left AP box unchecked. Both behave the same. I work fine wired, I work off 5.0 Ghz (AC), but I can't seem to connect to 2.4 Ghz. It shows connected but no internet. It has an IP from a separate DHCP server handled off a Windows server box I have on the network. I have the ethernet cables converging at a 5 port switch for now, and cables running from jacks in wall (verified connectivity) to LAN ports on the 2 routers.
Could this be an interference thing? I assume I should have AP checked and IPs punched in.
I should add that one TV I really need wireless to doesn't connect to either 2.4 or 5.0.
Any advice is appreciated!

What channels are you using on the main host router and these two APs?
What is the distance between the main host router and these two APs?

I'll have to check the channels I set them at, will post after work later. The distance between main router and 2 APs are just about out of wifi range.

Primary router (Netgear RAX80)
Router IP1.2.3.1
Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP turned off
2.4 Ghz
Channel: 11
SSID broadcast enabled
5.0 Ghz
Channel: 44
SSID broadcast enabled
Separate AP (Netgear 6400)
AP IP1.2.3.2
Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP turned off
2.4 Ghz
Channel: 6
SSID broadcast enabled
5.0 Ghz
Channel: 153
SSID broadcast enabled
AP mode enabled, and IPs entered on that page
Separate AP (Netgear 6400)
Router IP1.2.3.3
Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP turned off
2.4 Ghz
Channel: 1
SSID broadcast enabled
5.0 Ghz
Channel: 161
SSID broadcast enabled
AP mode enabled, and IPs entered on that page
DHCP is hosted on a Windows server box on my network, hence I don't use DHCP from primary router.
Wired ethernet works fine. 5.0 Ghz connects just fine too either AP. However I can't connect to 2.4 Ghz on either AP.
Seems rather bizarre !
I need the 2.4 Ghz more than the 5.0 for an installation I'm doing.
