Unable to connect to 5GHz - (Nighthawk x6 AC3200 (r8000))

Setup a new Nighthawk.

It is very flakey.

Sporadically every device drops the 5GHz Wifi, attempts to reconnect are rejected 'incorrect password'.

they can all connect using the 2.4GHz wifi which uses the same password.

Leave it 5 minutes or so and everything connects back Ok. alot of devices need a prod to get them to reconnect.

The only thing I can think of now is to restore to factory and set everything up again.

Not getting a good vibe about this device at all.

My old unreliable wifi router is starting to llok very dependable.

Any suggestions apart from returning and getting a refund?

Re: Unable to connect to 5GHz - (Nighthawk x6 AC3200 (r8000))

thanks

but irrelevant.

The issue was all 5GHz uses signal would drop everywhere in the house simultaneously - not an issue of 5GHz range, most of the 5GHz are in the same room as the router.

Also, none of the articles address the issue of being unable to login back in for 5 minutes - each time you tried it would respond that the password was invalid. Then suddenly on its own accord it would reconnect.

i managed to stabilise in the end by disabling 5GHz-1.

this problem was occurring several times a day.

since the workaround it has not occurred.

This indicates a fault.

So I have returned to router to Amazon and bought an Asus RT AC3200 it was more expensive, but I have not had one drop out on any device since running it up 🙂
