Web address Monitoring Nighthawk R7000

Hello all,

I'm new to this not so good at forums please forgive my grammar. Is there a way to set up my Nighthawk R7000 or what setting do I need to utilize in order to see what websites have been visited with in the router? I have two R7000 running on each end of our home and they are used for residential traffic with  2 Computers hard wired and all Iphones and Ipads the kids use are using WIFI at all times from the Nighthawks.

Thank you.

What firmware can I add to the R7000 in order to monitor web sites the kids have visited or any others using our wifi?

If this is beyond your skills, you can take another path. Register and use NextDNS as DNS server on your router for both IPv4 and IPv6. NextDNS logs all visited sites by default and you get the benefit of blocking ads and malicious sites as well. I use it myself (paid version) and it works very well. It even has Parental Controls. Unless your kids have access to the router to change the DNS to something else, they can't circumvent it

As my luck would have it after following set up I get this:

This device is not using NextDNS.
This device is currently using ”TWC-10796-MIDWEST” as DNS resolver.

Re: Web address Monitoring Nighthawk R7000

Your device needs to be in router mode. If you're using another router in front of the NETGEAR one, it won't work. Not to mention that you'll be in a double NAT situation that is really to be avoided, but that's another topic.

You can use the router's Web UI at http://routerlogin.net or http://192.168.1.1 and enter the DNS IPs from NextDNS, for both IPv4 and IPv6. If this is successful, on the NextDNS page it'll show something like "this device is using this configuration with NextDNS" or something like that.

You do not say how you "configured" and what you did on the router.

Go to http://192.168.1.1

Go in the WAN config page

Set 45.90.28.88 as 1st DNS server

Set 45.90.30.88 as 2nd DNS server

if you use IPv6, do:

2a07:a8c0::49:58d9 as 1st DNS server
2a07:a8c1::49:58d9 as 2nd DNS server.

That's all it takes.
