nighthawk R8500 cant update firmware, nothing is working im a mac apple user

what can I do????

Use Safari or FireFox or Opera browsers to manually update the FW on the router:

Need to download the FW file from NGs support site first:

Also this router is EoL as well:

So no newer FW versions will be forth coming.

This is the  most reliable way to go about it.

Remember, the download is a zip file. When you unpack it, do not try to "run" the firmware, especially if it is an "img" file. A lot of baffled Mac users turn up here after making that mistake.
