wifi quit working
I have to always reset the router because the wife stops working. that's seems like an easy task but it always seems to stop working at worst times and that's frustrating.
any advice is very appreciated

Re: wifi quit working
Hi Blondiesbarn
it's always hard to know where to start here. Here's a few questions to help you think about your troubleshooting approach.
What WiFi router do you have, how old is it and have you updated to the latest firmware? Could it be old and now unreliable with newest devices trying to attach on 5G and your due an upgrade?
Did these issues occur on previous firmware versions? So it may be firmware related.
Did this start occurring after another change such as an increase in the distance from your router to the device, or an increase in the number of devices using your WiFi? So heavy load.
Is this occurring at random times or under certain conditions like heavy use on your device or other household members, or only with a particular device?
It could also be an environmental cause such as microwave oven, WiFi spectrum congestion from neighbours, or you're on the fringes of your range, particularly if you are using 5G WiFi.
I started to get unreliable WiFi with my old Apple Airport and Time Capsule acting as the router and needing daily reboots and it was down to the old firmware not coping with the newer devices WiFi used on the iPads and smart devices that were confusing the router. All resolved by a new Orbi setup. Incidentally the Time Capsule and Airport Express work reliably as simple WiFi clients (NAS and Airplay) rather than as router and extender. Never needed rebooting since. They just couldn't cope with all the more feature rich WiFi clients these days.

Re: wifi quit working
Would need to know what NG router product your referring too.
Also FW version loaded and what brand and model ISP modem or ONT the router is connected too.
