MR60 Mesh Router and Fiber
Folks,
I am going to be switch to fiber internet. Can I use a media converter to go from fiber to ethernet and then on to my MR60 router? Will that work or do I have to use the ISPs gateway/modem? There seems to be differing answers on this.
Thanks,
Mike

Re: MR60 Mesh Router and Fiber
You'll need to contact your ISP and ask them if there are any requirements they may have in regards to what may or may not be needed to connect the MR directly to there ONT.
If they don't, then should be just turn OFF the ONT, connect the MR and have it OFF. Turn ON the ONT then the MR. May work.

Re: MR60 Mesh Router and Fiber
Thanks Furry...
Is the ONT the same as a media converter? I was looking at something like this: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Ethernet-Converter-Multi-Mode-MC200CM/dp/B003AVRLZI.
It seems ONT and media converter aren't necessarily the same thing, but the terminology doesn't seem consistent and is confusing. In terms of the ISP: they aren't very helpful.
