Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. https://kb.netgear.com/22697/How-do-I-install-my-NETGEAR-router-using-the-router-web-interface
Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.

It is true that most of the time Orbi routers will create a Local Area Network (LAN) with the IP subnet 192.168.1.x, reserving the IP 192.168.1.1 for the router itself.

However, if the Internet Service Provider (ISP) has assigned an IP address in 192.168.1.x to the Orbi router then the router will create a LAN using 10.0.0.x

What IP address has been assigned to the device being used to connect to the  Orbi router web interface?

(Is it in 192.168.1.x or in 10.0.0.x?)  The router should be found at the Gateway IP address.

The LAN created by the router is 192.168.1.*.

It is correctly serving up the 192.168.1.* over DHCP.

Re: MR80: "192.168.1.1 refused to connect." -- from both Nighthawk Andriod App and laptop

The MR80 connects fine to the modem.

I can not connect to the MR80 to change any settings from either the Nighthawk Andriod application on my phone or by attempting to connect to 192.168.1.1 from a web browser on my laptop.

The MR80 (and two MS80s) were purchased and installed in March of this year (2023).

Since I can not connect to the MR80, I can't tell you what firmware version is loaded.

Try the factory reset as suggested.

IF you use a mobile device to setup the MR using the NH app, Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

Would it be convenient to post a screen shot of the error message?

I tend to agree with @FURRYe38 . If the router web server is not responding, the last resort is a Factory Reset and reconfigure from scratch.

Screen shot as requested.

BTW, the router is routing traffic, just can't get to the settings to change it.

Will try a reset in the evening if no better ideas come up.

Ya the WEB UI may have crashed and the MR needs a reset and setup from scratch.

Then check FW version.

Did you ever answer the question about the make and model of that modem?

Seems odd that no one followed up on that.

A full power reset (unplug and wait 60 seconds) solved the issue.

Thanks to everyone who responded.
