Wifi Name not connecting
Hi all,
I recently had to reset my Virgin Modem and Nighthawk mesh router, and when setting up my nighthawk again and using my old SSID & password, devices aren't able to connect to it for some reason.
I've changed the SSID to something different and devices are able to connect to that, but just says "No Internet" when using my old wifi name.
I'd like to be able to use my old wifi name as I've got lots of smart devices in the house and will take ages to reconnect them all.
Any suggestions?

Re: Wifi Name not connecting
Is the vigin gateway is modem only/passthrough mode?
Or the netgear in access point mode?
otherwise you're in a double nat and it can cause issues (especially with IoT devices)
A double nat happens when you cascade more than 1 router.

Fixes? There’s 3 options but only use 1.
1. Put the modem/gateway in modem only/pass through mode. This disables its routing functions.
2. Leave the modem/gateway in router mode but put the Netgears IP address into its DMZ. This forwards the data to the netgear. You can either leave the modem/gateway’s wireless enabled or disabled. Just make sure its using a different wifi channel to prevent interference
3. Put the Netgear into access point mode. This disables its routing functions. Wifi/ethernet still works but it does disable some features.
