Dear Netgear,
Fix your firmware. Now.
Do not release firmware that doesn't work properly
It will save you a lot of tech support calls that last 2hrs+
I won't feel like I purchased the worst router on the market and we can all live happily ever after.
Oh, and rolling back a version as the suggested fix and/or rebooting and factory resetting the router everyday is not a solution.
My R6300 from 5+yrs ago performs better than this.
Last netgear product I will ever purchase.

What's the projected timeframe for release? Right now this router is verging on unusable and I purchased it to have better WiFi not worse. Right now you have a product that is not delivering on quoted performance stats and that is an issue.
