Nighthawk RAX - Slow wi-fi
We experience reduced network strength (dropping from 3 to 2 bars often) on our iPhones, as well as frequent signal degradation of picture quality and frequent buffering on our Sony Google TV (less than 2 years old). We have a Netgear extender in the same room as the TV and often see an orange light appear on it (a few seconds, then goes to green). Our ISP checked its equipment and found nothing wrong. The router is around three years old. What can I do to troubleshoot/fix this issue?

Some basic information about your setup would be helpful. What is the full Netgear model number of your router? Look on the label for a number that most likely starts with an R.
Log in to your user interface and provide the version number of the firmware that is installed on your router. "The Latest" is not a version number.
What is the brand name and model number of the device or devices that are connected upstream between your router and your internet service?
Some background reading on your part about Wi-Fi connections should be helpful. The reference page linked below is very large. Start with a review of the first three sections.
What is the radio frequency environment where you are operating your router? Lots of close by neighbors with Wi-Fi like in an apartment? Residential area with most neighbors some distance away?
See attached about the forum software features.
