RAX 200 and connecting to sky broadband

hi guys

I've had my RAX200 for a couple of years and have been on BT broadband.

just switched to sky broadband and can't now connect .

i'm sure its something simple to change in the settings as had to do it when i set it up with BT a few years ago.

any instructions would be welcome

the RAX200 is run though a Vigor 130 modem.

and it isn't fibre broadband .

thanks

Andy

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Are you using the Yellow Internet port or the Multi-Gig port on the RAX for it's internet conenction to the ISP modem?

Your modem model, I'd use the Yellow WAN Port and ensure the RAX web page is configured for it.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Which modem is that? What sort of Internet? DSL?

Did you reset the RAX200 to get it to forget the BT settings?

Either that, or run the Internet setup wizard, if you can get into the browser graphical user interface (GUI).
