RAX10 WiFi dropping out when old Router continues to work

My RAX10 continually losses internet connection when my tp link modem router is working fine and does not loose connection is there a way to fix this?

What happens when it loses the connection?

WiFi dies? Wired Ethernet stops working?

What do the LEDs on the RAX10 look like?

What model is this TP-Link modem router?

If it really is a modem router, you are asking for trouble. Two routers fighting each other are a recipe for chaos.

Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.

This explains some of the other drawbacks.

Unless you have specific reasons for using two routers – to create two separate networks for example – it is often easier to use just one router and then to set up the second router as a wifi access point. Netgear advises this, as does just about every site you will visit.

It may be possible to put the modem/router into modem only (bridge) mode and then to use the second device as the router. But some Internet service providers supply modem/routers that won't work in bridge mode. There may be ways to get the modem/router to cooperate. Sometimes it is easier to put the second router into AP mode. But that has its own drawbacks:

What it drops out the WiFi network says no internet connection when the tp link VR400 modem router still has internet. I always turn the WiFi off on the tp link. The either net also stops working on the RAX10.
All lights stay green apart from the internet light which goes red the only way I have found around it is to turn off the RAX10 and turn the WiFi back on the tp link VR400.
I will try the bridge mode on the tp link and see how it goes thanks
