RAX38v2 cables not connected

I have a Nighthawk AX4 RAX38v2. It worked fine, but I had to turn it off for two weeks and when I turned it back on, it stopped working. The internet access LED does not light up. After rebooting, the app reports that no cables are connected. If I plug the cable directly into the PC, it works fine.
I'm trying to set up a WI-FI router using the netgear app (android). I've tried several versions of frameware, including the newest, but it never works.
I called my ISP and they couldn't do anything. I tried setting it up through the app and from the PC, but only changed the SSID. This has not helped. Please help me sooner rather than later.

Re: RAX38v2 cables not connected

Something at your location with your ISPs ONT isn't working with the RAX router. Something to check with the ISP about.

Re: RAX38v2 cables not connected

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. https://kb.netgear.com/22697/How-do-I-install-my-NETGEAR-router-using-the-router-web-interface
Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

Re: RAX38v2 cables not connected

I just tried resetting and rebooting in the sequence you wrote - didn't help. I also changed the DHCP, but that didn't help either.
I don't know the Mfr and model# of the modem/ONT of the ISP that the NG router is connected to. But I can call my ISP tomorrow when they start working again if that could be the cause.
There is a CAT5 LAN cable connected to the NG.

Re: RAX38v2 cables not connected

CAT5 is only rated for 100Mpbs. CAT6 is recommended.

Re: RAX38v2 cables not connected

Ok. Ya the ROUTER isn't getting any connection from the ONT thus it's reporting not seeing the connection.

Do you have a friend, neighbor or family member around where you could take the RAX router to and temp connect it it there to see if it works at a different location?

I'll try the router in a different location tomorrow and report back. Thanks for your help.

Re: RAX38v2 cables not connected

I connected a wifi router at my friend's apartment, he has a different internet provider. This router works fine at his place. What does that mean? How can I fix it?

Re: RAX38v2 cables not connected

My ISP specialists came to my place and fixed the error. I didn't find out the cause, but they worked for a long time, then they pulled the CAT5E cable and my router worked. Thank you very much, FURRYe38!

Re: RAX38v2 cables not connected

Glad they got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
