RAX45 Slow speeds on PC
Trying to figure out why my download speeds are so slow on my PCs.
I have a Nighthawk RAX45 (firmware up to date), Spectrum internet at 300 Mbps and a Windows 11 mini PC. When connected to 5G wifi, I’m getting speeds of around 24 Mbps on the PC, regardless of what browser I’m using, and far lower at 2.4 G. In contrast, I’m getting speeds of 185-300 Mbps on my mobile devices, depending on proximity to the router. When I run ethernet to the PC and bypass the router, I get speeds in excess of 300 Mbps on the PC. When I run the Netgear admin utility on wifi, it reports speeds in excess of 300 Mbps. So why the degradation on my PC (same experience with my laptop)?
Thanks.

- microchip8MasterWhich wifi cards do you have on the PCs?
How are you testing?- Ramjet1981Aspirant
The PC adapter is listed as Intel Wi-fi 6 AX201 160 Mhz.
I'm using Google Fiber's speed test, get similar results from others, including speedtest.net (Ookla).
What baffles me is that the PC doesn't seem to be the problem because I get 300+ speeds from both the ethernet and the Netgear utility using wifi and the ethernet connection. Seems like the problem lies with the router.
Thanks.
- microchip8MasterI'd blame more the adapter. In past, Intel adapters had many issues and I do not know if all are resolved. Try updating the driver or do a reinstall and try to restrict the adapter to 80 MHz.
