RAXE500 is a bit hot. Isn't it supposed for the fan to kick in?

I mean. it's not like lava hot but is somewhat hot and I've never noticed the fan to kick in, only when I reboot the router. Do you know if this is normal? is the temperature threshold for the fan to kick in too high?
Also, the router lately has started to lose internet connectivity and I need to reboot it and I'm associating it with this temperature thing cause the room is hotter, or could it be happening for another reason?
