SSL Nucleus and Netgear Routers
Hello all,
So I have an old RA6700v3 router and just go Verizon FIOS. I ordered a new AX5400 router and could not get this thing to work on my MAC using the latest Sequior OS. When I plug in both my computer and the SSL Nucleus to the new router, I would loose some of the functions on my nuclues but if I unplug my Mac from the router then all works fine. Now my old trusted RA6700v3 all Nucleus functions and computer connected works just fine. My issue with the RA6700 router is that sometime my speed goes from around 800 to 150 for some strange reason and would like to replace it. Which of the netgear routers would you recommend for my setup with the SSL nucleus?

Re: SSL Nucleus and Netgear Routers
Something I don't think that any NG router supports that SSL feature and not something that you can install on a router.
Might ask NG support about it for more details.
What is Sequior OS? Mac OS?

Bad spelling, it should be Sequoia which is the latest Mac OS...

Re: SSL Nucleus and Netgear Routers
routers don't care what OS you're using.
If you were having an issues, I'm betting it was a settings issue.
In terms of your speeds changing, are you using smart connect? That combines the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz (not even sure if that router supports smart connect). 2.4ghz is a much slower network and sensitive to interference. 5ghz is significantly faster. Wired will be faster still. (doubt the R6700 would hit 800mbps over wireless).

Not sure about smart connect, the 800 number is from the wired connection to my Mac Studio m2.

Re: SSL Nucleus and Netgear Routers
800 over wired connection sounds correct. for the R6700 2.4ghz might be 50-80mbps and 5ghz maybe 300-500mbps (under optimal conditions).
What actual issue were you having with the new router?

Re: SSL Nucleus and Netgear Routers
Most posters here do not have a clue as to what a SSL Nucleus is or what it is used for.
I did a web search to find out. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=SSL+nucleus&t=newext&atb=v167-1&ia=web
Have you asked the manufacturer of your DAW Controller & Audio Interface about the functions of their device not working with a new router?

Re: SSL Nucleus and Netgear Routers
What gateway do you have from verizon? they're notorious for installing gateways with included routers that put you in a double nat. That can sometimes cause issues.

I got a 1gb router from Verizon which did not work so i decided to purchase the NETGEAR and had the issue mentioned above. My old 6700v3 router works fine with my Dante device but I’m not getting full internet speed.

Specifically, what is this "Dante" device? Brand name and model number from the nameplate please.

Re: SSL Nucleus and Netgear Routers
Seems like the user should make contact with the Mfrs of the SSL feature and the Dante device to see if any special configurations are needed on any router for these items to work properly.
