"This NETGEAR device is already registered with another account" message

I’ve tried to setup an Orbi mesh for someone and tested using my account, when I try to setup the persons details in who I set it up for it gives me the message:
“ "This NETGEAR device is already registered with another account"
How do I transfer the product to the correct owner as I don’t own them.
I’ve seen previous posts stating I should contact NG support but the complimentary support has ended and I can not raise a case with them CIA my products page.

3 months to set up, I've a feeling you purchased this second hand and you can't transfer the warranty.

How is your response helpful in any way?

It’s nothing to do with the warranty.

I setup and then sold the device if you must know and want to allow the new owner to be able to remotely administer it himself, I’m pretty confident that I’m allowed to sell my own property and the new owner use all of its facilities...

So it's not quite like your first post. The warranty is not transferable and your first post was trying to get round the terms and conditions.

if you sell it on it goes with no warranty unless you honour it to the seller.

I'll add it's best to contact support if you have an issue, if you kind find the answer here on the forums then support can help.

Thanks but this issue is unrelated to the warranty.

I simply want to allow the new owner the ability to remotely administer their router by removing my account from the product registration.

Yes I tried that but have no way of getting online help support now it’s out of the 90 day warranty company, ever contact page directs me to community support or simply loops me back to knowledge articles which are of no help on this occasion.
I thought I would see if there were any super helpful community people with the knowledge before I called support and get bounced from department to department to department.

Are you talking about bit defender Armor?

Re: "This NETGEAR device is already registered with another account" message

No it’s the orbi app itself, as I am the registered user the new user cannot connect to his system via the Orbi app because I am the registered user. I have removed the devices from my netgear app and from the support section of the netgear support website but I am still able to remotely administer his router via the orbi app if I log back in.

Did you reset the Orbi after testing it too?

I performed a factory hardware reset on both satellites and the router, yes.

Hopefully a moderator will pick up the thread if it's deemed an issue.

In the Orbi app, it seems you can remove device by going to Support>3 dots>Remove Device. Let me know if this works. I assume it’s how it works but I have not tried it personally yet.
