Wifi device names in ORBI App as N/A

After latest FW update of my ORBI setup and I am using latest Orbi app on iPhone too: the names of the devices attached to Wifi (either 2.4g or 5g network) now displayed as N/A, though correctly shown on the Orbi admin web page. What is this?wifi names.jpg

Re: Orbi app displaying NA for devices

Update: what worked for me was to delete the Orbi app, including its data, and re-install from the App Store. It will require to login again to the Netgear account, and then will find Orbi on the local network and will prompt to login as Admin. Now device names are correctly displayed.

Re: Wifi device names in ORBI App as N/A

If would be useful to know specifics:

  • Which model of Orbi?
  • Which specific firmware release number? ("latest" is ambiguous)
  • Which specific Orbi app for iOS release number?

Re: Wifi device names in ORBI App as N/A

Unless I am reading the web site incorrectly, the current firmware for the RBS750 satellite that is bundled with the CBR750 router is:

CrimpOn_0-1676060280060.png

Netgear has created quite a bit of confusion by using two different firmware versions for the RVS750 satellite:

  • 4.6.14.3 when bundled with the RBR750 router,
  • 4.6.5.14 when bundled with the CBR750 router.

I would try manually loading 4.6.5.14 on the satellites and see what happens.

Re: Wifi device names in ORBI App as N/A

Thank you, I will try that. However, there are devices that are WIFI connected to the router and satellites - in all cases device names are N/A

Re: Wifi device names in ORBI App as N/A

DO NOT DOWNGRADE the RBS. The v.6.14.x version for the RBS is approved to use with the CBR that's also on v.6.14.x

Ya we need NG to update the web page. Just follow FW information here:

Thank you, i was doing searches and found the same reference. So the question still remains open: what happened and how to fix it?

Re: Orbi app displaying NA for devices

I've got a similar issue.  Many devices on my iphone app are showing as "N/A".  Some are showing the actual device name like they should.   Connecting to my CBR750 on the computer correctly shows all the device names.   I've tried rebooting the router, uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my Iphone but I still have the same problem.

Both, please submit a bug report thru the Orbi app:

Thank you.

Re: Orbi app displaying NA for devices

I did try deleting the Orbi app, rebooted the phone, reinstalled from the appstore and signed in.   I still have the same problem.    You mentioned that you "deleted the data" - how exactly did you do that?

Re: Wifi device names in ORBI App as N/A

Hi Kelly, did you managed to resolve this issue?

I am facing the same problem and the suggested solution does not resolve this issue.

Does anybody have any other ideas?

Thanks.

Re: Orbi app displaying NA for devices

Yes, it has been resolved for a long time.  As I recall, deleting the app and reinstalling did not work.   I think i ended up doing a factory reset.
