2.4ghz band showing half speed

Hello everyone,
I have the AX6000 WiFi Mesh System (RBK852) and I am noticing that under connection status it is showing 2.4G as only 573.5M but shouldn't it be 1200? I may be missing something here but I feel like it is either showing it wrong or I have something setup incorrectly. Any help or explanation would be appreciated.

Re: 2.4ghz band showing half speed
On the product data sheet, notice the tiny footnote symbol after (2400 + 2400 + 1200Mbps)†
https://www.netgear.com/images/datasheet/orbi/RBK852.pdf
which leads to this footnote:
† Maximum wireless signal rate derived from IEEE 802.11 specifications. Actual data throughput and wireless coverage will vary and be lowered by network and environmental conditions, including network traffic volume, device limitations, and building construction. NETGEAR makes no representations or warranties about this product’s compatibility with future standards. Up to 6,000Mbps wireless speeds achieved when connecting to other 802.11ax 6,000Mbps devices.
My guess is that there is no device connected to the Orbi on the 2.4G band that supports 802.11ax,or there is nothing close enough to get a higher speed.

Re: 2.4ghz band showing half speed
You should also keep in mind the 20/40hz coexistence.
The 2.4ghz band doesn't have the same channel availability of the 5ghz. So if you're in an area with other 2.4ghz signals, its going to set the 2.4ghz channel width to 20hz which drops the speed in half which is roughly the 600mpbs link speed.
You can disable this function but its kind of an A-hole move to your neighbors.

Re: 2.4ghz band showing half speed
It might work and be broadcasting the faster speeds, but it can slow your network down and your neighbors.
Reason why (very simplified) is 2.4ghz devices can't be broadcasting at the same time. It waits for other networks/devices to finish first. Then it goes. Usually you're only taking up 3 channels and it reduces the amount of devices that will be interfering. With that disabled, you're actually broadcasting over 6 channels because you're 40hz wide instead of 20hz.
So more devices could be broadcasting on those channels as well as those devices have to wait on yours.
If you live in an area with a bunch of wifi, its not a very neighborly thing to do as well as it can slow you device down as it has to wait on more devices. So it might have a higher link speed but not much faster throughput and it might increase the latency a bit.
