Can I use my C6250 Cable Modem as only a modem and add on an Orbi as my router?
Hello - I have a 3 year old C6250 cable modem router and would like to increase the "reach" of my wifi throught a large home. Instead of buying a new modem, can I keep the C6250 and "turn off the router part" and then plug into that a new Orbi wifi 6 Mesh AX4200 system as my router? I also have a Verizon "extender" to increase phone service in the home that currently attaches to the back of the C6250 as well. Any concerns with this idea and if not, any gotchas I need to know about?

Yes, Look for Router/Modem mode or Router mode thats Yes or No.
Under Advanced tab/Advanced settings.
Review the user manual as well.

You also have the option of leavef the C6250 in router mode and putting the orbi in access point mode.
You can use the C6250 as a backup wifi or to even offload some of the closer devices to it.
I've used that option before.
Just make sure to have it on a seperate ssid from the orbi and to have it on a different wireless channel to prevent interference.
