Configuring IOT devices

Orbi BRB850

Although in the Orbi RBR850-3 setup check for firmware update, showed no firmware update available for some time now,

I went to Netgear page and it showed a much newer firmware available for this model.

So I did a manual firmware update, starting with the update on all three satellites first,

by logging into the SAT directly, as in typed the IP of each SAT, You may have to scan your network first or look on the main page of the router login. Updated firmware on all three SAT's first then Router. Make sure you download the Satellite firmware as well as Router firmware, they are different. 

After all is back up and rebooted. There was a loT section to the Wireless setup section and I set the loT to 2.4GHz only.

It pulls the same password as the main WiFi ID (can be changed), so set up is easy, then on you devices and phone or what ever your login into devices with you should now also see ORBI-model# as an available WiFi, (can be change) to the name to what ever you want, But I kept it as is as it was short and easy to type into some devices, like that used on some screen keyboard devices.

Not sure what other models upgrades with this feature but I'm assuming anything later than RBR850 either has the loT feature or can update to newer firmware that does. Then just log into your devices and add them to the loT WiFi.
