Re: Download slower than upload Orbi RBKE963
"Slower" as in:
- A few megabits difference, or
- 100's of megabits difference?
Is the Orbi in router or Access Point (AP) mode?

Re: Download slower than upload Orbi RBKE963
It is 1000ish down/200ish up. I had my friend confirm and he has 1Gb both up and down.
It is setup as a router.

Re: Download slower than upload Orbi RBKE963
If it really is 1000 down and 200 up, I would not be concerned (who has that much to upload?)
Doesn't AT&T have a speed test on their phone 'app' that reports up/down speed to their unit?

Is the CR1000A in bridge mode? If not, while using the Orbi as a router then you have 2 routers operating and Double NAT. Suggest trying the Orbi in AP mode or else put the CR1000A in bridge mode.
I also agree with the other post - These speeds are already far more that anyone needs. 🙂

Re: Download slower than upload Orbi RBKE963
Thank you for your assistance.
Is it normal for an Orbi connected to a Verizon modem to get 850 down/150 up on a 1Gb connection?

Re: Download slower than upload Orbi RBKE963
Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
https://www.verizon.com/support/verizon-router-cr1000a/
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

I would try option #2 first. Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
IF your getting hear 900Mpbs and near 200Mpbs thru the Orbi system, then it would be working as expected.

Re: Download slower than upload Orbi RBKE963
The connection we are paying for is 1Gbit both upload and download.
Is the Orbi unable to do more than 200 up?

Re: Download slower than upload Orbi RBKE963
With a wired PC connected to the 1Gb LAN port should see near 900Mpbs or just over.
Wireless depends on the wifi device and it's supported MIMO antenna and connetion rate support. Most 2x2 MIMO devices top out at around 600-700Mpbs. 4x4 MIMO devices can see 900Mbps and over.
Be sure your speed testing at the ISP Modem first and your getting speeds at the modem with a wired PC.
Try the Orbi system in AP mode with the ISP modem in router mode with it's wifi fully disabled.
Check the LAN cable between the modem and RBR.
