I own an RBK854 set and since the last update version 7.2.6.21
I own an RBK854 set and since the last update version 7.2.6.21 the WiFi signal/the complete system has been very! unstable.
All the RBS take turns offline and then go online again after a few seconds (turning amber and then turn blue again) and so on.
First I installed the firmware on the RBR, then on the RBS.
After this update, I first turned off the complete system incl. the KPN-router, than I performed a reset to all devices in the mesh, re-setting them to factory default settings and performed a new install, connected the RBS points wirelessly to the RBR one by one, through WebUI.
After the 3 RBS points were all connected wirelessly to the RBR, I connected them to the RBR using an SSTP cable.
I then set the RBR to AP mode, since I have a separate DHCP router / modem (provider=KPN).
After I put the RBR in AP mode, these connection problems arise.
As soon as the RBS854 set is in router mode, this set works well, but then I have a network within a network, since the KPN-router also has a has its own network (it is necessary that the KPN-router is in router-mode).
If I set both the KPN-router as the RBR to router-mode, where the RBR and KPN-router, each provide a separate IP range (KPN-router 192.168.2.xx and RBR 192.168.1.xx), it works, but this is not an option, since certain devices in the network then no longer see each other.
I have set the DHCP range on the KPN-router to 100 to 200 (when the RBR is set to AP-mode).
The SSTP cable between the KPN-router and the RBR is connected to the yellow WAN port and not to the regular LAN port.
Before this FW update, the SSTP cable between the KPN modem and the RBR was connected to a regular LAN port, than this worked but now this no longer works.
When I do connect it this way (not using the yellow WAN port but a regular LAN port on the RBR), this internet connection is even more instable.
What am I missing, are there any more options to try?
I even performed a new installation of all my SONOS speakers.
Before this FW update I had no problems and nothing else is changed in the network before and after this FW-update.
Very disappointing that these kinds of problems arise after an FW update, this should improve things, right?
Moving the switch to the Orbi router would place everything on the same LAN subnet except for the television sets.

If all devices are connected to the Orbi router, then they should all be on the same LAN subnet. If some devices are connected directly to the KPN router, then they will be on separate LAN subnets. Are there devices connected directly to the KPN router (besides the Orbi)?
- Yes the 3 TV settopboxes (also KPN) and one switch, which connects the ps5, alarm and security camera system.
thanks for your help so far.Moving the switch to the Orbi router would place everything on the same LAN subnet except for the television sets.

You stated that you had updated the rbr FIRST and then the 3 rbs. I believe the instructions say to always do the satellites first. Not sure if that is what the problem is or not. Also can you confirm all units are on the same FW version? Lastly, not sure if it is typical to perform a full factory reset after FW but did something go wrong there?
My setup is very vanilla and yours seems pretty complex, perhaps a feature was deprecated or broke a configuration you have. I used the webUI to firstly update the satellite and then lastly update the router. I performed a reboot and everything works and my service has been stable with no random disconnects or reboots of units.
Ah sorry, I should have said (typing error): i updated the three RBS first than the router.
There was no error during the reset.
And also not when performing the FW update.
I've tried first to make the set work without the reset.
Due to the instability I did a full reset but the same errors persisted.
I'm trying something new, i've disconnected one RBS, and see if the problemm occure because the RBS is to close to the RBR (this was not a problem before the FW update, i did not move any units after the update, but you never know if this is a problem now)Update: the problem still occurs...
