Issues with Cisco Anyconnect VPN and CBR750 with RBS750 Satellite

Hello,

I am having issues with my xfinity internet provider and my orbi system when working from home with a cisco anyconnect VPN.  The WIFI has been noisey/ lagging, it has dropped out when another device turns on and connects to our wifi, it can be extremely slow (definitely not what we pay for at 1000Mbps), or has dropped connection completely - all intermittently at times.  We have been able to manage, but now I am not able to connect to WIFI at all.

The Orbi app says I have internet and the satellite is online - all green on the network map.  But, the internet provider and app says my Netgrear CBR750 is offline.

I think it has something to do with VPN, but I'm not sure.  Please let me know your thoughts.

The ISP also has an 'app'?

Purchasing a combination modem/WiFi router is advantageous because:

    • One device takes up less physical space than two.
    • There is one fewer cable in the way.
    • The ISP will not be charging a monthly fee for the cable modem.

The downside is that now you get to deal with cable modem "issues" in addition to typical home WiFi issues.

FURRYe38 's advice to look at the cable modem logs is a good place to start.  Cable systems are vulnerable to all sorts of issues, including faulty splitters, breaks in the cable insulation, loose crimps, etc.  In our area, squirrels have been known to mess up cable drops.  Many of these problems are intermittent, which makes them the very devil to diagnose.

Company VPNs are special to us as users, but not to WiFi routers.  As far as they know, some device on their network asked to connect to a URL on the internet and exchange weirdly encrypted packets of information.  There may be an assumption that this is not a web site because the port number does not match a port typically associated with https, but using port 443 is only a convention - not an absolute rule.

    No WiFi, or no internet?

  • What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?

What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR📡 and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

Does this happen with the RBS turned OFF?

Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices?

What channel configurations are currently set on the CBR?

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Do you have any problems with out using the VPN?

Please post a copy and paste of the modems connection status and event log page.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Thanks for the quick reply Furry.  Here are some answers to your questions:

      Home size = 2,000sqft (circa 60's)

      Distance to satellite 38ft

I haven't checked with the RBS turned off.  We have all wireless devices.

Looks like it is working better this afternoon with VPN off.

Looks like 5 or 6 WIFI neighbors.

I have no event logs, but here is the cable connection log
