Lost both Satellites when changing from Router to AP RBR850

I had my RBR850 configured as a router and have 2 x RBS850's attached and they were working fine. I recently change the configuration on the RBR850 from Router to AP as I am using a different router now but I have now lost connection from both the RBS850's ??

When I log in and look at attached devices, it shows them under "Connected Devices" but in the "Backhaul Status" it says Disconnected.

Both the Satellites have Purple Lights, no matter how close I have them to the RBR850.

Can anyone suggest what needs to be done to fix this as I have another site that is using the older RBR50 and 2 x RBS50 Satellites again only as AP and they work fine ??

Thanks

Ian

Re: Lost both Satellites when changing from Router to AP RBR850

They are both running over wireless and from the primary router it is going to one of the Orbi's LAN ports. I didn't think to try it from the WAN port but will try that today.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Orbi WiFi 6 (AX) and WiFi 6E (AXE) - NETGEAR Communities

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Are they hardwired in or running over wireless?

With the orbi in AP mode, do you have it going from the primary router to the orbi routers WAN port?

Correct, in ap mode the primary router should run to the Orbi router's wan port.

Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
