After installing the update to 4.6.3.16 - I have nothing but disconnects a few times per day. I also factory reset both the routers/satellite and set up the entire network again - but no luck. I've had this system for 6 months and it has been PERFECT until this FW update. I also tried to manually downgrade firmware but according to the page for this update you cannot downgrade. Any help would be appreciated as both of us are working from home and can't have this happen all day! THANK YOU!

You can roll back.

- EmonsonSep 27, 2021GuideHow do you roll back?
My current solution is to reboot everything each morning - seems to give a bit of stability for a few hours but very annoying!

This is what happens when you ping rhe router during drop outs.
The wifi connection is maintained (coverage is ok) nut the router time outs and responds at the same time
Firmware Version
V4.6.3.16_2.0.51This is definitely a routing problem (firmware related) and has nothing to do with coverage.
I will return the whole 1800 euro system in te next couple of days for a refund.
Good bye Netgear

Good Luck.
- p0se1d0nXOct 12, 2021StarMaybe I’m just lucky but my RBK852 has not hiccuped once since this fw update. I did factory reset after the latest update and set up it again from scratch (didn’t use a backup settings file) so I’m not sure if that’s a reason why but I haven’t had any slowdown/disconnects/drop-offs or any other issues with this update that many others are experiencing.

Glad it's working for you as well.
How was yours updated? Auto Update, thru the RBRs web page or manually install FW files using a PC and web browser?
Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Enjoy.

I have also nummerous disconnects since release 4.6.3.16 when will this be fixed by Netgear.
Or make it possible to downgrade to previous version.
- FURRYe38Nov 29, 2021Guru
You may need to factory reset the system and power the system OFF as well.

Same thing for me - random disconnections started a few days ago and I also have FW version 4.6.3.16. WTF. Does a factory reset really work?

Yes. Unfortunately, until NG releases an updated firmware this is the only solution I have found that gets me back online. Super frustrating with a mutl-satellite setup and 40+ devices.
I have tried blocking the auto update URLs and IPs at my ISPs modem with no luck, there is no option to turn off auto update, and reloading prior FW versions works for a day or so until they are auto updated with 4.6.3.16.
Good luck.

What do you mean by "random disconnections started a few days ago"? Is this wireless or wired or both?
Any front RBR or RBS LED indication when this happens?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?How long have you had your system for?
Was it updated recently or a while back?
v3.16 has been out for months.
