Firmware Update Instructions:
To update your product’s firmware, follow the instructions in your product’s user manual.
To find your user manual, visit https://www.netgear.com/support/,
enter your model number in the search box, and click the Documentation button on the product page.
If you manually update, be sure to update the RBS first, then RBR lastly.
NOTE: Update the RBS first, then the RBR lastly. After the FW files are loaded and the RBS and RBR are ready, power OFF the RBS and RBR for 2 minutes then back ON.
Unplug the power adapters from the power wall outlet.
A factory reset maybe needed if problems are encountered:

This article applies to:

- ZweiklangAspirantThe only thing I can say for sure is that the connection stays stable once I turn off the satelllite. But that defeats the purpose of a mesh network.
- ZweiklangAspirantInstalled the firmware in my RBR and RBS850, did not really change much. Disconnected to Magenta LED after 24h again.
Tried pretty much everything: from changing cables to factory reset to repositioning, all that was suggested in posts like these.IF you installed v.13, please post here:
Thank you.

I've just manually updated to officially released 4.6.7.13, downloaded from https://kb.netgear.com/000064681/RBR850-RBS850-Firmware-Version-4-6-7-13?language=en_US. I haven't seen that version mentioned, just the 4.6.7.5. Maybe they are the exact same versions and the official release is just a version bump over 4.6.7.5?
Ok v4.6.7.13 is live and is official release and not a beta:
Have at it.
Please be sure to post any v.13 experiences and issues in that thread.
Thank you.
- 57ayLuminaryJust tried to auto update to v.13 but was not available in the UK. Updated the Sats first manually and no issue to update! but the sats did not continue to work at all with the Router on the v.5 firmware. Updated the Router manually to v.13 powered down router and stats powered up router then sats all working well. Warning if you don’t update sats first I believe you could have serious issues. Netgear’s procedure is to always update the sats first then the router. Post your findings. Now all working will evaluate.
Just curious if anyone has seen any Memory Usage spikes upwards or towards maximum usage value and if so, see any problems?

Mine crept up to 738MB over a few weeks then went back down to 627MB 2 days later. I saw this same behavior a couple of weeks ago. I have all the logging turned off...not sure what is being written/stored in memory. So far it hasn't maxed out and I'm coming up on 60 days up time.
I was on this version of FW. Thank you. I heard there was a beta version released after this one?
What version are you on now?

A long time lurker here, but here's my contribution. Been running 4.6.7.5 on my RBK853 system for 3 weeks. Initially, after updating the router and all satellites to 4.6.7.5, I caught my router rebooting almost daily. After disabling all logging, system uptime is now almost 10 days without any problems. Also, memory consumption has stayed quite low.
I have router mode enabled, ax wifi (WPA3), guest network (WPA2) with full power. Armor, Circle and add-ons disabled. All logging disabled.
If you re-enable logging, does the memory usage go up?

Hi guys,
i have a configuration with RBR and 2 satellite..
my backhaul is wired and i setup it on a dedicated giabit switch.
all devices are upgraded to fw 4.6.7.5.
the RBR is configured on AP mode, its wan uplink is going to my mikrotik router where i menage dhcp, nat , ppoe for connection etc etc..
what i can see .. the system is not so stable, and lot of time i got disconnected.. performance are not on top..
the mesh network is on 2.4 and 5 ghz.. and i have mised devices connectes but not more 20..
my house is about 100mq for floor.. and i have 3 floor.. one Orbi for every floor.
what do you suggest to check ? networking is ok between the orbi device , to router etc..
thanks
- Asch_72AspirantI just joined this community as a last ditch, throw of the dice to sort out my orbi issues before I rip it out and bin it. Have had the System for nearly 2 years, the range is ultra disappointing and the stability horrendous. I tried today to get support as I had finally had enough and couldn’t figure out how to contact anyone without paying for a 130$ support subscription.
I used to work with Netgear and from what I can see, this thread offers me the opportunity to test their firmware for them.
Not impressed but I will give it a run this weekend to see how it goes.
I have hard wired the Sat to the router to solve my range issues but stability is simply isn’t good enough now that the wife has gone back to work and the load increased only marginally.
Looks like an engaged community here. Hopefully we get a good outcomeLet us know how v5 works for you.
