My Orbi 753 system auto updated to fw 4.6.3.16_2.0.51 and now the satellites are dropping connection. I can get them working again by power cycling them. The satellites are hard wired to the router with ethernet cable.
Any suggestions on solutions? This system has been troublesome since I purchased it and I am ready to return it if a quick fix can't be suggested.

RBS7 or 8 series will work.
EAX80 will do in pinch however doesn't integrate like RBS do.

Did v16 get applied to the RBS as well?
Are the RBS directly connected to the back of the RBR or is there a LAN switch in between?

Re: Orbi 753 w/ fw v4.6.3.16_2.0.51 satellites dropping
The satellites are on the same firmware as the router (v.4.3.16).
There is a lan switch between the satellites and the router - both satellites are on the same switch but they are not connected directly to the back of the router. I can change that - either by connecting the satellites directly to the router with the ethernet cables, or by letting them connect to the router wirelessly without the wired ethernet backhaul.

Can you remove the switch to see if the problem continues? Wireless or wired if you can.
What is the brand and model of this switch?

Re: Orbi 753 w/ fw v4.6.3.16_2.0.51 satellites dropping
I have connected the satellites directly to the back of the router, and have moved other ethernet connected devices to the switch (which is also connected directly to the back of the router.
The switch is a TP-Link model TL-SG108 8-port gigabit desktop switch.
Would a different brand of switch (Netgear GS-305 for example) work better?

Re: Orbi 753 w/ fw v4.6.3.16_2.0.51 satellites dropping
Do the RBS seem to work better directly connect to the RBR?
The 305 may work better however I see it has "Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) IEEE 802.3az" someting Orib systems don't work well with sometimes. NG GS-105/108v4, D-Link DGS-105/108 and HP ProCurve 1400/1800 series switches work for Orbi systems.

Re: Orbi 753 w/ fw v4.6.3.16_2.0.51 satellites dropping
So far the system is working fine with the satellites connected directly to the router - no switch in between.
I do have a TP-Link TL-SG108 switch connected into a port on the router with devices (not the satellites) connected to that switch; I will order one of the switches you recommended to try instead of that one. Could having this TP-Link switch in the network still cause problems, and would I be better off while waiting for the new switch to have the satellites connected wirelessly to the router and use the ports on the router to run to the devices, to completely eliminate the TP-Link switch?

I would keep with one brand of Switch.

Re: Orbi 753 w/ fw v4.6.3.16_2.0.51 satellites dropping
OK - I switched and now am using only NG Prosafe GS105E switches and all seems to be stable and working well.
I have 2 satellites in my system and am interested in adding one more device to improve connectivity in a dead spot in the house. What are my options - do I have to buy a third Orbi 750 satellite, or are there other options that you would know of?
Thanks for all your help on this - finally feel like things are going in the right direction. Those switches were probably the cause of the problems I have been having.
