Orbi RBK 853 - additional satellites

how can I add new satellites into an existing configuration, if the new satellites were used previously in another network. Although it’s the same type, the existing network doesn’t include them. When logging in into the new satellites, they seem to be connected to the router, but are not implemented into the network. The lock in page says “not connected”, resetting them did not help.

I have turned all the satellites off and then connect the new one first. Afterwards I turned on the other ones.

FW the same version on the RBS and what's on the current RBR?

What firmware version is on the current running system?

What model are these RBS? 850 series?

IF all is loaded with same version of FW, then using the RBRs web page to Add Satellite to the system should work. I recommend turning OFF all other currently connected RBS while you get the incoming RBS connected.

How many RBS are deployed?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?

There were 2 Satellites, 2 additional ones are being planned.
The home is about 2700sq ft .
Two Satellites was okay, to get a good signal in every corner, I want to put in two additional ones.

Re: Orbi RBK 853 - additional satellites

For that size of home you only need the RBR and one RBS. With two RBS it would work good and I would maybe turn the power down to 50%. I have same system in a 5000sq ft home and run two RBS only. Most of the time they are ethernet connected and run the power at 25%. I have a 3rd and only deploy that for testing purposes.

Adding two more to your system and environment would be too much. Would cause too much signal saturation and signal over lap between each other and the RBR. If your two RBS have been working fine for you, I'd keep what you have and not add anything.
