RBR850 not syncing w satellites after being turned off
I have an RBR850 system with 2 satellites. Firmware Version: V3.2.18.1_1.4.14,
Router is connected by ethernet to main computer. Previously both satellites were detected and synced. I have not changed any default settings except to rename the system using the old SSID and password which was done when purchased 9 mos ago.
This summer, I turned off the system twice while away and once while changing out the backup battery.
When I plug in each satellite, the blue light appears for 3-4 minutes and they are detected on the orbilogin site. I am unable to sync them and they dont show up on the orbi mobile app. I have powered down entire system incl modem x 3, booted the router x4, reset and powered up x 2, added the satellites x 6. I have turned off the firewall once without any effect. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: RBR850 not syncing w satellites after being turned off
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Sync the RBS using the sync button in back on the RBS then RBR.
Did this started recently?
What version of the orbi app are you using? Does this happend on different mobile devices?
Uninstall the app, reboot device then reinstall app.
Do the RBS appear on the RBRs web page?

Re: RBR850 not syncing w satellites after being turned off
What mode is the modem working in? Bridge or router mode? This model modem has a built in router FYI.
Possible that this maybe a Orbi app issue...

Re: RBR850 not syncing w satellites after being turned off
Modem has settings that came when gotten--router. Have never used as a router, always w NG router/access point--current ORBI is upgrade from Nighthawk that worked well for some time. Currently one of the satellites is recognizing two devices--an ipad and my iphone, but this info doesnt show up on ORBI app as before. Will try to remove and reboot and then re-install app.

Re: RBR850 not syncing w satellites after being turned off
For future reference about your modem:
Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
If the Orbi app process doesnt' seem to fix this, I'd go over to the Orbi app forum and post about this there:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-App/bd-p/en-home-orbi-app
Maybe something going on with the app...

Re: RBR850 not syncing w satellites after being turned off
I previously posted that I was unable to sync my satellites to router--RBR850. After upgrading firmware on satellites and router, the Orbi app now shows both satellites and connections as before. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Re: RBR850 not syncing w satellites after being turned off
Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves tine if a reset is needed.
