RRB350 Poor connection between router and satellites
Hi all
I have recently started to experience severe loss of connection speeds between my my Orbi RBR 350 router and the satellites. If I am in the room next to the router I achieve approx 550 to 600 mbs but next tot he satellite I am only getting in the region or 30mbs. This used to be up at 250 to 300 so not sure what has changed. Nothing major has changed in the house which would disrupt the connection so does nayone know anything I could try?
The Orbi router is plugged into a Virgin Media router which is positioned int he same room. The satellites are approx 20ft away from the Orbi router.
I have updated the Orbi router to the latest firmware V4.4.1.29_3.10.80
Also the speeds I have stated above are Google Speed Testsrun from both a PC connected to one of the satellites and also my Iphone. When I run the Netgear speedtest from the App it always says 650mbs!
Really dont understand why the connection between the satellites and router would have got so bad.

Re: RRB350 Poor connection between router and satellites
If your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. 20 feet is too close in distance between the RBR and RBS.
