Because your use case and environment is not the only one.

I can immediately figure out many scenarios and even some current users that would be very interested in covering e.g. some outdoor and external building areas with old satellites instead of insanely expensive WiFi 6 devices.

    Yeah, I understand my case is not the only one. That was not my point which was, if folks can afford the "insanely expensive" price of $700 for a router and a satellite, then the $$ for an additional satellite (or two) shouldn't present a huge problem. [or they can just keep what they've got]

      I pre-ordered my Netgear RBK852 from Amazon! Can't wait for it to arrive :-) 

       

      Amazon says Nov. 11th date, but Netgear's page jumps around from 10/28 to 11/1. I hope Amazon releases the RBK852 at the same time. I had gift cards and credits to use for Amazon, so I was able to get the price down.
