how to make sure RBS 750 satellite connected to RBR750 , serve some devices.

In the orbi App,  network map i see 1 RBR750 and Two  satelites RBS750 connected.

However, only one satellite is showing some devices connected and the other device is just sitting there, no devices connected.

Most of the devices go to directly to RBR750.

Any leads to ensure both satellites do pick up some devices. The satellite that is NOT showing any devices connected is still within the range frm router and when i attemped 'Sync' it does sync.

Trying to see, how to influence  the 2nd sattellite to start connecting devices as opposed to just sitting there  doing nothing

Try turning down the power output of the RBRs wifi radios from 100% to 50% and see if this changes anything. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Its up to devices to pick and choose where they connect too...

If you power cycle (turn off for 30 seconds, then turn back on) any devices nearest the satellite, those devices MAY connect to the satellite as you want. However, depending on the device, you may have to go into the device settings and "Forget the Network", then reinitialize the device on your WiFi network. Also, the ORBI system takes a LONG time to "settle" (think hours, not minutes) and report exactly what is happening on the router and sats.

One final note: The ORBI app lags a bit showing what is happening on your router and satellites. Try using the web-based user inteface with an internet browser. Simply type in the IP address of your satellite (192.168.x.xxx) and log on.

Some Findings:

1. Check for firmware update DOES NOT  identify  available Firmware updates
2. Downloaded the firmwares ( RBS  & RBR, and applied them in that sequence)

Now i have the following firmware version:  V4.6.3.7_2.0.49

I was able to see devices getting added to 3 edge points ( RBR and RBS )

New Question:

As we move around the home, how come the celll phone continued to stay connected to the initial satellite that it establsihed the connecton.

Is there an option to follow the sattellte as you move around as opposed to getting stuck to one satellite, even though you may have one  RBS that may be more closer to you

Iam curious, what is the impact of powering down to 50% ?

Please share the positive impacts.

We are looking to get a stable, reliable WiFi connectivity in the mesh eco system, as we move around within the home.

Thanks for the suggestions, though. Just making sure, if we will open up other issues ( such as speed, stability etc)

It's up to devices to pick and choose where they connect too and roam, if they support roaming. Something to ask the mfr of this device about.
