Alternative ways to troubleshoot instead of just downgrade FW in case of issues

We have here in the community are very "active" user who suggests for all kind of issues a firmware downgrade.

But there are a lot of users using the latest FW (for RBK50 2.7.2.104) without any issues.
The latest FW also contains several important security fixes.
see: https://kb.netgear.com/000062883/Security-Advisory-for-Multiple-Vulnerabilities-on-Some-Routers-Sate...

The network (device) is the entrance to your home, therefore you should secure it as good as possible.

Below, you find some steps you can do without the need to setup your system from scratch. Mainly when your system has worked fine before and you encounter issues after a FW upgrade or your system became unstable without any (config) changes from your side.
I've done a factory reset and reload from config successfully more than once on different firmwares.

  1. save the router config to a file via the web GUI (you can do that also before a FW upgrade, but also take a config save before doing the following steps)
  2. power OFF the router and all sattelites for 1-2 minutes
then power on the router first and wait until startup is complete (approx. 5 minutes)
check webGUI and check if internet connection is working
then power on one sattelite and wait again approx. 5 minutes until startup is complete
check if the sattelite is connected to router (wifi or cable) via Web GUI
do the same with the remaining satellites
  3. if step 2) does not help, proceed with the following steps
    power off all sattelites
reset the router to factory defaults
setup router and load the previously save of the config
wait until the router is fully initialized (approx 5 minutes)
check webGUI and check if internet connection is working
then power on one sattelite and wait again appro 5 minutes until startup is complete
check if the sattelite is connected to router (wifi or cable)
do the same with the remaining satellites
  4. if step 3) does not help, proceed with the following steps
reapply the same firmware and repeat all steps from 2)
  5. if step 3) does not help, proceed with the following steps
    downgrade the firmware
  6. if issues are still not fixed, reset the router and do the setup as described in step 3)

Re: Alternative ways to troubleshoot instead of just downgrade FW in case of issues

some facts:

this part:

5. if step 3) does not help, proceed with the following steps
    downgrade the firmware
6. if issues are still not fixed, reset the router and do the setup as described in step 3)

should be changed to:

5. if step 4) does not help, proceed with the following steps
    downgrade the firmware
6. if issues are still not fixed, reset the router and do the setup as described in step 3)
7. if issue still exists, try to find help here in the community

As I cannot edit the initial post, I'm thinking about opening a new thread with the updated instructions.
And there I hope we get posts/answers which are related to the initial post.

No one will consider your advice of any value as long as you continue to turn this into a food fight by posting such as

He is just acting like a bad troll here in the forum.
Unfortunately the moderators are not taking any actions against that.
