Coax vs Fiber connection
I have a Netgear Orbi RBK23-100NAS Mesh Wireless Router, purchased new in March of 2020. The Firmware Version is: V2.7.4.24.
I am changing internet providers very soon from a coax broadband service to Fiber to the home connection. Of course, with the coax connection, there is a modem that the coax connects to and then a CAT5E cable out to my router.
With the new fiber connection, their ONT connection will have the RJ-45 connection for the CAT5E cable to connect to.
My question is, will my router sync up with the fiber connection, or do I need to have some type of Modem set up like I have with my current coaxial service provider in order to continue with my wireless connection throughout the home?
Thanks.
Yes. Have the ISP help you get the RBR connected with there equipement.

It should be a simple case of plugging your RBK into the ONT.
But it may not be a simple plug and pray process. You'll want to hang on to the existing SSID and passwords for the wifi, so try to avoid having to reset the router. That is often recommended when changing a modem and/or ISP.
If it doesn't all come together when you restart the network, you could try running the Internet setup wizard on the Orbi router.

Thank you for the added info. I have printed all of that out and placed in a file just in case.
Let us know how it turns out.

Thank you for confirming what I thought to be true. I just wanted some form of verification from someone else to be sure!
