Need help to find a working solution to stop auto updating RBK50's firmware
Hello. I have a RBK50 kit with 1 router and 3 satelite.
I got stuck with this systems after netgear release the newest firmware 2.7.4.24. The satelite alway loss connection with router.
I tried many solution but it not working like hard reset all system but the problem come back after a while.
I tried solution that downgrade the firmware to 2.3.5.30 . The system work very well , but the problem of this solution is the device will be auto upgrade to 2.7.4.24.
I tried many way which i read in this forum to disable auto upgrade like : use telnet and terminal command , block netgear update ip address, use opendns to block netgear update ip address ... all of them not work for me. sometime it re-auto update after few hours, sometime few days.
Are there anyone having working solution to disable auto firmware upgrade please help me cleary to do it.
Thank you.

Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!
I understand that you have been experiencing network connectivity issues between your Orbi router and Orbi satellite on firmware version 2.7.4.24. Before blocking the auto update process please consider our most updated firmware for the RBK50 system version 2.7.5.4.
Please navigate to the link below for the download file for your RBR50 (Be sure to update your Orbi satellite before the router):

Perhaps this is case of nit-picking terminology (if so, I apologize) but there is not a single IP address for Netgear updates. There are (literally) dozens of IP addresses located around the world. In order to use OpenDNS to block the Orbi router from updating firmware, it must be instructed to block these URLs (not IP addresses):
update.netgear.com,
updates.netgear.com,
updates1.netgear.com,
updates2.netgear.com,
updates3.netgear.com,
http.fw.updates1.netgear.com

Yes i did block these URL, sorry for use wrong word "ip address" .
Does the blocking via opendns solotion work with you ?
Please check my setup in opendns and in orbi setting. Did i setup right enough to disable auto update ?- KevinLiTNETGEAR Moderator
