Netgear is pushing out yet another a new Orbi firmware update.
Hopefully it's better than the last version v32.

It seems that the 'config_sync' vicious cycle is still not resolved with this latest version.

Satellite RBS50Y OutDoor V2.3.0.28 Update failed
Have you tried a factory reset and setup from scratch on the all Orbi devices to see if the Config Sync issue remains?
Try with and with out Daisy Chain enabled.

Auto installed and rebooted within a minute or so. While I can't find any specific changes browsing through the admin UI, so far it has been a non eventful / positive experience.

Hmm, I (in The Netherlands) only got the 2.3.1.44 update for the router, no update for the satellites?
And I still got the message that the satellites are waiting for connection (Dutch = "wachten op verbinding")
- Chuck_MMentor
Where did those version numbers appear? The download center doesnt reflect those (they are still at .32).
Would appreciate that reference.- Ojee99Aspirant
The update was presented from the weblogin of the router.

Will this get pushed automatically to routers that still have a Router and Satellite at 2.2.1.210? I have a pair and the upgrade didn't get pushed. The Router and Satellite that had 2.3.0.32 got upgraded last night. On 2.3.0.32, I lost my internet connection several times and had to reboot to recover. I was planning on dropping back to 2.2.1.210 before I saw that a new version had been pushed. We'll see what happens....
Possibly not as the v212 changed the size of the FW load and needs to be applied first on any RBR50 series unit before v32 or v44 can be applied if coming from v210. If users want to ensure there system is upgraded correctly, I would recommend getting v212 then v32 loaded first and go from there. Manually load the FW files first. RBS should already be at v32 first. Then upgrade the RBR50.
I would do a factory reset and clean setup from scratch after this and then save off a new config backup to file for safe keeping.

- gr8shoVirtuosoI do hope Netgear is reading this. I want the option to do the update myself manually on my own schedule. Things are now screwed up and I'm in the process of having to stop what I'm doing and perform a factory reset to get things back to working order.
Thank you.
- I was on 2.2.1.210 and was automatically updated to 2.3 1.44. I didn't know that would happen, because of the two step process to update to .32. I am still seeing config sync issues and the map in the Orbi app does not agree with the WUI on the RBR50. Will downgrade to .210 when I get a moment.
I'll be checking on this this week. I got a loander RBR50 to test for someone and will check the satellite behavior.

after downgrading back to 2.2.1.210 after trying manual updates to 2.3.0.32 and finding some dropping and a much weaker WiFi, even after factory resets, I though I would update again to 32 to see if I got the 44 push, which I did
updated via web browser and using the update all button.
update seems to have gone fine in itself, obviously way too early to see if stable or not.
one immediate thing I notice however, via the web browser in the connected devices I see both my orbi router and orbi satellite are shown as windows pc's
If you notice odd or bad behavior after the update, do a factory reset and setup from scratch and check again.

Will do, thank you, its just i did the re-upgrade and upgrade remotely from work, so couldn't actually do a reset yet.
besides, i want to see if there actually is anything else odd before i do that. in particular i want to see if the wifi range is as good as .210 or as bad as .32
Will reset if need be and check.
shall let you all know my findings if anythign worth reporting.
- SwampSlimeAspirantWoke up to find my system not responding. Pretty ridiculous. Will try and reset the system.
Please reset and setup from scratch. :smileyfrustrated:

Funny thing - I was right in the middle of rolling back to v.2.1.4.16 (hacked the router to stop auto-updates, hacked the satellite to stop auto-updates, ready to load....) when this new version (2.3.1.44) pops up on my router UI. Well, I've wasted the past two weeks with the last round of un-announced manual-double-update-patchware which cut my wifi download throughput in half, **bleep** it, let's see if it works.
Welp, nope - despite solid signal coverage throughout my 3000 sq ft house with a single router and satellite, my wifi download throughput is still only half what it should be (uploads are fine, and everythings runs wire-speed from my ISP to a machine hardwared on my orbi router lan port). But over the air i get download latency and lags, despite solid signal. Trying pinging your satellites eternally - things look great 1ms or less, then....laaagggs.
But hey, at least i've got adware running on my router now letting me know I can pay extra for security.
Hey Netgear - if I sign up to pay for the optional security does it work as well has the half-working wifi I already paid for two years ago?
kthxbai.

If you've already tried these, then ignore. I was able to improve/restore my download WiFi download speed (400-500Mbps) by doing these:
1. Disable 20/40 MHz Coexistence
2. Preamble Mode: Short Preamble
3. Separate SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz
4. Enable Implicit BEAMFORMING - Boosts WiFi speed, reliability, & range for all mobile devices
5. Enable WMM (Wi-Fi multimedia) settings
BTW, Disney Circle and Access Control will affect the CPU performance under high traffic loads, i.e., Speed Test.
Good luck!
What fun! Router and Satellite updated to 2.3.1.44 at 3:30am. My environment is "really plain", so as far as I can tell, "everything works."
Did notice one minor detail. I have the log file emailed when it fills and I accumulate the entries. The update process simply cleared the log when it rebooted, so about 36 hours of log entries have disappeared. In comparison to the major problems people are having, this is inconsequential.
Been no other reports of wifi issues.
30 feet is recommended in between router and satellite(s) to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
- Where can I get the 2.3.1.44 firmware file ?

Here is what I see after the upgrated:
