I guess they haven't updated the site yet.

I have been running 2.7.0.70 since this past weekend, on 2 separate RBK50 systems. I've added up to 25 devices on both systems.

It is very stable and seems to give me faster network speeds. (examble, my S10+'s network speed was always around 585. Now it is constantly 700+. The WEB GUI and app and displaying everything correctly.

It's rock solid here.

I just performed the textbook Netgear instructions for manual firmware update.

Satellites first, then router, then reboot. Only issue was I had to go to a few devices and forget the WIFI network and rejoin. In the app there were offline devices that were also showing online as well with a different MAC address. I deleted all the duplicate offline devices. The GUI never really had any issues.

Possible your unit may not be reg'd with the NG servers correctly or NG isn't trigging it on everyones unit yet.

I was asked to post this:

Just got off the phone with my NG rep. He said the ONLY official releases are located here:

He said any other pushed releases may be a result of settings on the Orbi device, such as Armor, Disney, etc., and specific for that particular device, but not official for all devices.

He said he is aware of the download pages for newer firmware, but didn't comment further.

So the Netgear firmware version confusion continues.

If it wasn't so annoying, this would be sort of funny:

"RBK50" indeed produces 2.7.0.70 as the current firmware.

"RBR50" produces 2.5.1.16 as the current firmware.

Ah, so the "package" has one firmware and the "router itself" has another??? Or.....

Ya well, it's not our web site so we can only point that out to NG. The new versions are listed for the RBR50, just not down in the main section of that page. I sure someone will upate that page.

I checked RBK50 and RBK53 and it's there. They must have updated the site, since earlier.

But when I check RBK50V2, RBR50 and RBR50V2, RBS50 and RBS50V2 it shows 2.5.1.16.

So it appears they are still slowly updating the website.

Did you activate any Armor or Circle?

Try a factory reset and setup from scratch if you didn't try this already and see if you speeds return.

What speed differences are you seeing? Wired and wireless?

Armor and Circle are not activated. I have only tried wireless and I'm getting around 300 when I should be getting 400. I was getting 400 without issue with the prior firmware. I also disabled the Daisychain Technology and turned on Beamforming.

After updating to this version manually I am not longer able to login to my router. It says the password is incorrect. It was not reset to the default 'password' either. I guess I have to proceed to resetting the device.

Sadly this experiece is on par with the overall software quality I expect from Netgear.

RBR50 (Orbi Router) Firmware Version 2.7.0.70 (for US Region Only)

This restriction was added after I started using this version outside the US.

Although I believe it works fine, can I expect problems and would it be better to move to version 2.5.2.4?

Next time, try clearing all browser caches first before re-entering the RBRs web page. Try a different browser to compare.
