New printer asking for password on my mac to authenticate.
I have purchased a new hp desk jet printer, but for some reason it fails to print from my mac and keeps requesting a password to authenticate, I have checked printer settings and mac but cannot trace the origin of this request.... coild it be the orbi mesh system I have and if so, how do i fix?

I'm not sure why you think its the router.
If its a new printer, did you check with them for support?

It would be helpful to attach a screenshot of the password request. That will help us identify what/why the password is for. Also, exactly what model HP printer is it?

Re: New printer asking for password on my mac to authenticate.
1. what modem/gateway do you have?
2. what firmware is on the router?
3. what is actually asking for the password? The printer when you try to connect it to the network? The mac when you try to print?
