Orbi AC2200 won't connect to internet

Hi there, I am hoping someone can help me. I just bought a Netgear Orbi AC2200 router and 2 satellites to strengthen my internet for my parents as they have just moved into our granny flat and they cannot pick up my internet.

However on initil set up I cannot connect it to the internet. I just rang the Netgear helpline as they say you get free support for 90 days, however on talking to them they said they will need to charge me $69 to talk to a Mac specialist to change some settings on my Apple computer to configure it.

Is this information available anywhere for me to do myself? I just spent $450 already on the system, and no where does it tell me that I will have to spend hours failing to connect and then eventually spend another $69 to fix it. I think thats madness! I was just wondering if anyone knows what settings need to be changed on a iMac to get it started.

Thanks so much in advance!

Re: Orbi AC2200 won't connect to internet

What FW is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
Is the Orbi system operating in Router or AP mode?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
