Orbi RBR50 Adding another Satellite
I have an Orbi RBR50 with on satellite. I couldn't find where I could just purchase another satellite. I therefore purchased an Orbi mini router RBR40 that comes with 2 satellites. They are the same price as a single system. Anyway, I was able to connect one of the satellites to the main routher with awesome results, then it just disconnected. Don't know why. shoule I just use the mini router instead of the RBR50?

Re: Orbi RBR50 Adding another Satellite
The wireless back haul differs between the RBR50 and and RBR40.
RBR40 system:
Orbi AC2200 Router & AC2200 Satellites
(866+866+400Mbps)†
RBR50 Orbi AC3000 Router & AC3000 Satellites
(866+866+1733Mbps)†
Technically the RBS40 satellites should connect and work with the 50 series however the backhaul would be a bottle neck with the RBS40s.
One thing to check is that the RBS are getting FW updates. If there new and just off the shelf, they may have been getting or trying to get FW updates which would disconnect RBS temporarily.
