Orbi RBR50 firewall configuration for Roomba 960
Hi All -
Our Roomba 960 vacuum cleaner is not connecting through the Roomba app any more and their support team says it's because of the firewall configuration on the Orbi. They recommend that the firewall settings be:
Internal Network Traffic
- UDP port 5353/5678 for discovery.
- TCP/HTTPS 443 for data traffic.
- TCP/MQTT 8883 for data traffic.
Outbound Traffic to the Internet
- UDP/SNTP port 123 for time.
- TCP/HTTPS 443 (/80) for data traffic.
- TCP/MQTT 8883 for data traffic.
I found the firewall configuration options in Orbi advanced settings but they don't match these exactly.
Am I missing something???? Any ideas????? Thanks
Btw - we have already explored the other typical fixes, i.e., reset the Orbi wireless router, uninstalled/reinstalled the Roomba app a couple of times, etc.

Re: Orbi RBR50 firewall configuration for Roomba 960
Happy to say the problem is fixed. Don't know why. I opened the app while out of the house using my data plan and could get into it. Later my wife opened the app at home on the Orbi Wifi and it worked, first time in 2 months.
Thanks though for reaching out.

Re: Orbi RBR50 firewall configuration for Roomba 960
Hopefully it works well. You may only need uPnP enabled and no Port Fowarding configurations. uPnP should only be needed to handle port configurations.
Enjoy.

Ack! I was excited thinking I was going to find a solution to my issue in this thread. I too am trying to figure out how to open those ports on my Orbi system as they have been provided to me by iRobot. But I cannot figure out where to open those ports

Look under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Port Forwarding?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
